Lake Lynn and points north 30.3 miles

Finding greenway trails in the the northern part of the city can be tricky. This route crosses Glenwood/US 70 at a the busy intersection with Ebenezer Church Rd.. North of that point, the neighborhoods are relatively quiet, and many roads have designated bike lanes. This route has some hills!

Ducking under West Millbrook and Shelley Rd. is accomplished with two adjacent underpasses. Careful under there!

Three legs form this lopsided triangle. The leg leading northwest from Dix Park follows Ebenezer Church Rd. as it skirts Umstead Park’s east side. The upper third of the ride cuts across the city on a variety of greenways and roads – some with bike lanes. The route turns south on Longstreet Dr. with a long hill down to the Mine Creek Trail entrance, and on around Shelley Lake and back to Dix Park.

As Mine Creek Trail nears its intersection with the Crabtree Creek Trail, some sewer-ups are decorated with butterflies.
