The Alphabet Project

A sewer-up is a structure that looks like a rustic version of the nose of a Space Shuttle rising out of the ground. Greenways users are familiar with them as many of the greenways around Raleigh follow sewer lines. Often you can smell the sewer-ups long before you see them. Raleigh Artist Morgan Cook has given a few of these industrial-looking nubs some colorful shine with his Alphabet Project. The greenway is only one beneficiary of this new installation, as he is in the process of citing each of the 26 letters in and around Raleigh. You can treat this as a treasure hunt. These three are on the Rocky Branch Trail. Hint – south side of Western Blvd. near Dix Park. Where are the others?
