Trashfish R.I.P

Near the intersection of Walnut Creek Trail and Little Rock Trail this Trashfish sculpture was a ‘reconfiguration’ of trash culled during a clean up of the nearby Walnut Creek. The trashy materials ranged from plastic grocery bags to car tires, and even an old VHF antenna that bore a striking resemblance to a spine. The fish also had a very trashy diet, with dolls, bicycles, and other colorful junk in various forms of ‘digestion’ visible in the stomach within the chain link fish scale skin. The visually punny installation was on display from the Spring of 2020 until early 2021, when its various pieces parts were sent to their appropriate trash homes. Sorry to see this greenway installation disappear, but by the winter, it was starting to look a little, well, trashy.
